Once upon a time a man and woman were a single entity, who, by the will of the Creator, dwelled in one body. And this perfect human being (later named ‘androgyne’) lived in harmony with self and the world somewhere in heavens. It would still thrive there, yet once it doubted its luck and repined against its fate. And then the wrathful Creator raised his sword and cut the perfect man in two halves. He brought upon these halves the disease later named ‘life’ and banished them to suffer on the Earth... However, the Creator’s mercy is boundless – sometimes the separated halves meet, reunite and die in each other.
