The seventeenth
At first glance the subject of the picture is an ironic interpretation of „The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen. Only this time it is not She but He who is madly in love and ends up in a hostile environment: death is inevitable. But is love not worth it? Of course it is. True, somewhat confusing are the fragments of skeletons (are they the predecessors of our diver?) and the fish that seem to have deliberately lined up in a column to count the drowned. How many have you already ruined, maiden fish? Perhaps the answer is in the title.
